| Born at Albury 11 September 1939 to Harold Lionel and Margaret Seton Angel. Attended North Albury Public School to second class, Albury Grammar School third class, Albury Public School to sixth class then Albury High School.
Joined PMG and moved to Sydney in 1957 attending the University of New South Wales obtaining a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in 1960.
Moved to Wagga Wagga with PMG in 1961, married Lynne and had three children, David, Philip and Catherine. Worked in numerous engineering positions finally being promoted to District Telecom Manager in 1977. Separated from Lynne in 1981.
Met Jo, she already had Sam and Ryan, married in 1985 and moved to Canberra as District Telecom Manager. Finally promoted to the position of General Manager, Corporate Customer Operations.
Previously a member of the Rotary Club of Wagga Wagga which was joined in 1969, transferred to the Rotary Club of Canberra (or on facebook) in 1986 and became Club President in 1990.
Left Canberra in December 1990 for a position as General Advisor in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Worked for Telecom Australia International until they lost the contract with the Saudi Telecom Company in 1994. Then became Regional Manager for Norconsult Telematics, involved in the supervision of Lucent Technologies construction of network for Saudi Telecom.
Joined the Board of Governers of the British International School of Jeddah in 1992 and became Chairman in 1996. Relinquished the Chairmanship after the school successfully moved to its new premises in the Mohammadiyah/Basateen District in 1998.
Left Saudi Arabia in 1999 driving through Jordan, Syria, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Monaco, France, Spain, Germany, Denmark, Holland, Belgium to the UK before putting the Land Rover into a container and flying back to Australia and retirement.
