Born at The Rock 27 April 1951 to Pearl Adelaide and John David Lodge attended Gerogery and South Wagga Public Schools then Wagga Wagga High School. Joined PMG after leaving school. Met Ian Gowland in 1970, married in 1971 and had Sam in 1976 and Ryan in 1979. Met Harry, married in 1985 and moved to Canberra in 1986, staying four years before moving half way around the world to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. Left Saudi Arabia in 1999 driving through Jordan, Syria, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Monaco, France, Spain, Germany, Denmark, Holland, Belgium to the UK before putting the Land Rover into a container and flying back to Australia. Now enjoy catching up with family, the many friends we made during our overseas stint and our Danish daughter Lisbeth and her family. The above information has been left as Jo wrote it. Sadly, Jo Darling passed away on 19/8/19 after a fall on our front steps on 4/7/19 subsequently revealed that she had a Glioblastoma. Jo had requested that she wanted to die at home. She was an amazing patient who never complained during her short illness. She was surrounded by family and friends visited from as far away as Denmark and England to say their goodbyes. Jo died at midday on the 19th with Harry, Sam and Ryan by her side. She had a White Lady funeral on Saturday 24th August at 10:30 am at The Chapel at Gold Creek. Over 120 of her friends attended the Celebration of her life. Sam, Ryan, Kobe and Casey gave her a wonderful farewell.and this Memorial to Jo so beautifully portrays her life and loves. |
