Born at Wagga Wagga 3 November 1979 to Ian Robert and Jo Frances Gowland. Started at Sturt Public School then moved to Cook (ACT) Public School to fourth class, then to Daramarlan for fifth class, moving to the Continental School, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to year 11. Then back to Canberra Grammar School to finish off the Higher School Certificate.

Spent a year in Denmark at the Struer Gymnasium and became fluent in the Danish language.

Then back to Australia where I enrolled at Canberra University, graduating with a Bachelor of Education in 2002.

Spent three years at Campbell Primary School before taking a 12 month break travelling to South America

Moved to Qatar in 2007 and taught at The Gulf English School in Doha.

Returned to Oz in 2008 and taught at Coogee Prep till 2021

Moved to Perth in 2021 and accepted a position at the Christ Church Grammar School at Claremont WA
